HEALTH & MEDICATION

Children’s Health:

Children must be able to actively participate in all planned activities including outside play. If your child is ill (vomiting, fever, earache, diarrhea, pink eye, anything contagious etc.) please do not bring him/her to the center.

If your child becomes ill while at the center, we will notify you to pick up your child. If we are unable to reach you, an emergency contact person will be notified. Please be prepared with a care plan in the event your child becomes ill at the center.

Below is the centers sick policy:

  • If your child has a 100-degree fever we will call you to inform you. If you have provided medication and have signed the log we can administer the medication to your child.

  • If your child has a temp of 4 degree or higher you will be required to pick your child up early.

  • Vomiting & diarrhea: You will be required to pick your child up if they begin to vomit. If your child has 3 loose bowl movements in an hour you will be required to pick your child up.

  • Your child can not return to the center until they are 24 HOURS FREE from the sickness (Fever, vomiting, diarrhea) unless you can provide a doctor’s note stating the child is not contagious.

If your child has something contagious the center must be notified. We will post signs to inform other parents of the illness and symptoms of it. (No name will be included) If your child is absent with a communicable disease you must have a note from the doctor’s office stating the date your child is able to return to the center and is no longer contagious. If your child is returning to the center after surgery, you must have a doctor’s note stating that your child can return to the center.

Medication:

Please see the Director/Owner of the child care center for information regarding medication. If your child must receive medication we are required to have a medication form completed by the parent. Children may not have any type of medicine in their possession at any time in the center. This includes lotions, lip balms, cough drops, etc.

The center will request a care plan from your child’s pediatrician when needed. The center will adhere to the care plan for your child’s health and safety.
